Marcy was not prepared when her father told her and her brother his big news. It seemed so utterly absurd that Marcy wanted to laugh. But she could see that he was dead serious and it definitely wasn't a laughing matter.

"If he marries her on Sunday," her brother Sam said later, "then you can count on me being out of this house on Monday. There's no way in hell I'm going to stick around with that gold digging bitch as a step-mother!"

"I'm with you there," Marcy said. "We both know the only reason Papa is getting married is because she's giving him great blow-jobs and fucking his brains out. Since he divorced mama he's been looking to get fucked and that's about it."

"You're absolutely right," Sam agreed. "He's not in love with her and I know she's not in love with him. She just wants an older man who'll take care of her."

Marcy's mind was spinning as she sought out some way she could convince her father not to get married. It wasn't that she didn't want him to be happy – she wanted that more than even her own happiness. It was just that she knew that his intended bride would, soon make him completely miserable.
