Few writers have the opportunity to work with the editor and agent of their choosing. I am surely one of the lucky ones. No one could ever collaborate with an editor more incredible than Tom Colgan or an agent as tremendous as Liza Fleissig. My dream of partnering with both came true. I also wish to thank my friend and former boss, Lannette Bailey. Without her encouragement and insistence, this dream might not have reached its end. Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank the wonderful folks at ThrillerFest. Without your unbelievable conference, this would have never happened.

Many of the places depicted in this novel are entirely fictional. Others, however, are actual cities, towns, highways, and locations of United States and Allied military units and installations within Germany, Great Britain, and the United States. Even where real locations and military units were used, license was taken in describing those places and units in order to conform to the flow of the story. Occasionally, license was also taken when describing the capabilities of military weapons, armaments, and command and control systems. The intent of The Red Line was not to write a military technical or field manual but to create a story that would be enjoyed by a wide variety of readers. To do so, where the technical aspects and the story line were in conflict, the story prevailed.
